SPURS TALK: Spanish striker Villa could be available if the price is right

10:51am Wednesday 27th August 2008

SPURS boss Juande Ramos could be tempted to make a swoop for Valencia striker David Villa if he manages to off-load want-away striker Dimitar Berbatov before the transfer window shuts on Monday.

The Spanish outfit claim they are happy they've had no offers for the leading scorer of Euro 2008 so far, but vice-president Fernando Gomez insists they would have to seriously consider any offer in the region of 50million euros for the player.

And that could really set the alarm bells ringing at White Hart Lane, with former Sevilla boss Ramos believed to be a long-term admirer of Villa.

"There is no offer for Villa and if one arrives we hope it will be as soon as possible, (although) we hope one never comes.

"It would be very difficult to see Villa leave Valencia," Gomez sstated in Marca.

But he hypotheticaly said a bid of 50million euros would be "a good offer, but I cannot assure that we would say yes to it.”

But added: "Valencia have not had any offer for Villa. Anything that arrives will be studied.

"We will be reviewing his contract so that he is happier to continue with us.

"We have to meet with his agent, but I don't know when."
