TERRY'S TALK: Crewe win will inspire us to push on further up the table

9:45am Thursday 20th November 2008

IT was another great win and solid performance by the boys at Crewe which lifted us out of the drop zone.

To be honest Crewe are really struggling at the moment themselves, but you have to make the most of it and beat those teams.

Credit to the lads, they also got another cleansheet and won it in the end with two excellent strikes.

Tam is fast getting himself a reputation for coming up with some good goals, while Boydy surprised us all with his strike from 20 yards. Given all the penalties he takes it is unusual to see him have a shot from outside the area. I’m sure after seeing that go in he will be trying to shoot from all over the pitch now.

Hopefully he will stick a few more away this week, because we face two tough games against Millwall and Huddersfield.

We certainly can’t afford to come off the gas and I’m sure the lads won’t forget all the hard work that has seen us turn things around over the last few weeks.

Obviously Millwall have been going well this season, but we go into it with confidence after three straight wins ourselves. In any case derby games always take care of themselves and hopefully our fans will be right behind us again like they have recently, because the Millwall supporters will be out in numbers I’m sure.

Hopefully that will help us get a fourth win on the trot, which will set it up nicely for Tuesday’s difficult game at Huddersfield.

Finally I have to give all those Pro Evolution Soccer pretenders in the camp a bit more stick after I won my second competition during the trip to Crewe.

People like young Jason and Aiden – as well as Dean Morgan since he joined us – give it all the time about how good they are, but it seems they can only talk the talk, rather than walk the walk.

Myself and Jamie Jones did the business again and, as they say, talk is cheap and money buys houses.

One thing I do know is that the gaffer and Smudge are trying to get involved as all the noise we make keeps disturbing their card school.

But I think things might have moved on a bit too much for them from the old Atari games they played back in the day.
