ARSENE Wenger confirmed that Theo Walcott will be out for three months after dislocating his shoulder.
The forward will undergo surgery in the next few days after suffering the injury during a training session with England on Monday, ahead of last night's friendly match with Germany.
During his commentary on France's game with Uruguay last night for French TV channel TF1, Wenger confirmed: “Theo dislocated his shoulder during training, he will be out for at least three months.”
The news will come as a huge blow to the Frenchman, who has seen his Arsenal side fall out of contention in the race for the Premier League title after slipping to their fourth defeat of the season against Aston Villa last week, leaving them nine points adrift of leaders Liverpool and Chelsea.
Wenger has been highly critical of the timing of the international breaks, and his view is unlikely to have changed after this latest setback.
It is not the first time that Walcott has encountered problems with his shoulder, and it will be the second time he has been forced to have surgery.
