FOOTBALL
Leyton 2
Wingate & Finchley 2
(Ryman One North)
LEYTON put in a sensational display in the final five minutes, grabbing two last gasps goals to salvage a point against Wingate.
The Lilywhites trailed to Leon Fisher's volleyed 31st minute opener and Leon Nelson's rifled effort ten minutes after the break.
All hope also looked to be lost when Daniel Gabriel's 'goal' was ruled out for a tight offside decision.
But the Cricklefields outfit rallied and hit back with a brace of strikes in the dying moments.
With just three minutes left on the clock, Fabio Jesus pulled one back with a superbly-taken chip from the edge of the area.
And, two minutes into time added on, Des Thomas stroked home a penalty after Bobby Aisien had hauled down Gabriel in the box.
The draw could prove to be a massive confidence booster to the team, and also keeps them in eighth place and among the pack chasing the five runaway clubs in the play-off positions.
The East Londoners will be looking to take that into the trip to relegation-battlers Chatham Town on Saturday.
