CUSTOMERS fled from a McDonald’s restaurant during an armed robbery last night (November 7).
A tall black man entered the fast food venue at about 9.20pm and was carrying what appeared to be a small handgun.
He threatened staff and forced them to open the till before escaping with some money.
Dressed in a hoody, the masked thief dropped some of the money near the restaurant as he ran off.
Detectives in Epping Forest are now appealing for information about the incident which happened in Waltham Abbey.
Investigating Officer DS Ed Mayo said: “I would like to see any witnesses to the robbery who may have seen the man before, during or after the robbery. It was a frightening experience for people and I urge anyone with information to contact police so this man can be stopped.”
Witnesses should contact detectives at Epping CID on 03003334444.
