TALENTED young people in the district are being invited to apply for a £1,500 bursary.
Epping Forest District Council offers one award for arts and one for sports every year to help people with outstanding talents develop their gifts.
Last year the Bursary for Arts was awarded jointly to Somalia Seaton and Nichola Miles.
Somalia’s funding helped her put on a theatre production at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival while Nichola was able to gain a place at Hertford University to study graphic design and illustration.
Talented cyclist Jim Lewis, who won the 2008 sports bursary, is now part of the British Cycling Talent Team and races at international level.
Applicants must be aged 13 to 25 and able to demonstrate an outstanding talent for their activity.
Full details and application forms are available from Lynne Hague, on 01992 564551. Closing date for applications is January 30.
