NOW Poppy Day is upon us I should like to make a few comments.
Firstly I support it and always buy a poppy. However, should the disabled of two world wars have to rely on charity for their needs?
I would like to think a penny on a pint of beer would raise more with less hassle. What do other countries do?
Some things should not be left to charity, it is degrading.
When I was a boy hospital care was in the hands of charity and thousands died.
