Volunteers' departure is not the reason for shortfall at hospice

5:19pm Wednesday 5th November 2008

I WRITE in response to Debbie Balls and June Tatch (Letters, October 30).

If there is a shortfall of £500,000 for Haven House Hospice, it is not due to volunteers resigning.

All volunteers have a conscience, that's why they volunteer. There must be a good reason why these people resigned, they are not to be criticised without knowing the full story.

The shortfall on this vast sum of money is surely down to the way the Hospice is managed.

As June Tatch said perhaps the managers and trustees who run this charity need to take a closer look their own beliefs.

If Harry Potter books are being torn up now, what other non-Christian articles will be next?
