Award Labour party a gold for failure

WITH reference to Cllr Terry Wheeler's letter (Guardian, August 14), we should not take our eyes away from the real tragedy for the borough, that the Arcade site still has not been developed some five years after being demolished.
If it had, it would render our spat about St Modwen redundant.
Furthermore with reference to transport links, have we not rather missed the train,bus or car here?
Stratford City Sho-pping Centre is due for completion in spring 2011 and, as such, will offer a highly appetising and easily-reached shopping solution for many in the borough long before Cllr Wheeler has figured out what do with Walthamstow.
That has got to be gold medal incompetence from the Labour Party.
