REGARDING the current debate taking place in the Waltham Forest Guardian about controlled parking zones in the borough, I would advise any resident body contemplating it to think twice.
This council is using CPZ as a means to acquire additional revenue by penalising households with more than one car and calling it a 'green tax'.
The CPZ idea is to prevent commuters from other areas from parking their cars all day on residential streets.
So all those residents of the borough who do not live in a CPZ can have as many cars as they like outside their home and those who opt for a CPZ are penalised by the council if they have more than one car.
Is this discrimination?
