REGARDING traffic schemes, Councillor Terry Wheeler must be living on a different planet when he says “Residents will democratically vote to determine whether a scheme is introduced on an area,” (Guardian, October 16) What utter nonsense.
His officers are imposing a traffic calming scheme in our area.
Residents have proposed alternatives, lodged objections and even tried meeting with them.
They have just ignored everyone, local councillors and police included.
They have made it patently clear that they are going ahead with the scheme unaltered.
As far as they are concerned, residents can jump off Beachy Head.
Can anybody tell me who is in charge? It is certainly not the likes of Terry Wheeler.
