WHAT have ex-London Mayor Livingstone, the current Government, our council leader Clyde Loakes and a spoilt child got in common?
None of them can be told ‘no’, and with the exception of a spoilt child they all change the rules until the answer is ‘yes’.
The question of yet more controlled parking zones (CPZs) seems to be all that concerns Waltham Forest Council week in, week out, if you read the Guardian, WFM and public notices.
You would think there are no bigger issues in the borough.
Two years ago, the residents in my area overwhelmingly said ‘no’ to proposed CPZs, so the council had to back down on the issue.
Now it seems they intend to change the consultation procedure so that in future they can impose their will on people and completely ignore their wishes.
Democracy... I don’t think so.
