THE fears over Gunners defender Kolo Toure have eased after it was revealed the Ivory Coast international has only contracted a mild form of malaria.
It emerged yesterday that Toure had been struck down by the potentially deadly tropical virus after going back to visit his homeland earlier this summer.
As a result Toure has rejoined the Arsenal squad at their training camp in Austria and is expected to be fit for the season curtain-raiser against West Brom on August 18.
It had initially been feared that the 27-year-old would miss the start of the new campaign, but Toure could even feature in some of the Gunners' remaining pre-season friendlies.
